OVERVIEW
The Falkland Islands offer a very special bird photography experience. 227 species have been recorded in the Islands including two endemic - the Cobb’s wren and Falklands Flightless Steamer Duck, five species of breeding penguin and over 65% of the World’s Black-browed albatross population. Many rare species inhabit the Islands, with some of these classified globally as “threatened” and "endangered". At many destinations around the Islands, we will find ourselves alone in a rookery, on the hillside or by a waters-edge, able to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells as a very personal encounter. We will be photographing numerous species not limited to 4 species of penguins including Gentoo, Magellanic, King and Rockhoppers. Other exciting and very approachable species include Striated Caracara, Black-browed Albatross, Rock and King cormorants, Variable Hawk, Steamer Ducks, Silvery Grebes and more! One of the most incredible things about shooting in the Falklands is how approachable the birds are. Many times, species will approach you out of sheer curiosity! It is a wonderful experience just to be there, more amazing to photograph it.
Please email info@naturesphotoadventures to reserve a spot on either one of these amazing workshops.
