AN INTRODUCTION TO THIS PHOTO ADVENTURE
Nothing is more exciting for North American bird photographers than creating images of beautiful songbirds in the spring. Having just returned to their breeding grounds these birds are in perfect plumage and come in a stunning array of colours. Unfortunately, capturing intimate portraits of these birds has long been a frustrating and difficult challenge for bird photographers. If this sounds familiar - then this is the photo workshop for you! Join us on this exciting workshop for an amazing opportunity to learn how to master the skills of songbird photography.
On this photo adventure we will visit some of the premier locations for songbird photography in Canada. This workshop is designed so that participants can take part for a single weekend, a week long tour, back to back weekends, or for the whole tour (either 4, 7 or 10 days). Local photographers may wish to join this workshop for a single weekend. Those coming from farther away have the option of taking part in the full 10 day workshop. It is totally up to you!
During the fist weekend we will focus on birds that nest further south in the Province and will be based out of the Long Point area. Here we will have opportunities for species such as: Scarlet Tanagers, Indigo Buntings, a variety of Warblers such as Canada and Cerulean and many, many more fantastic birds.
During the second weekend we will travel further north and focus on the species that are more commonly found at these latitudes. Birds like Magnolia Warblers, Black and White Warblers, Nashville Warblers and Black-throated Green Warblers are all common in this area. We will also visit an Ontario hotspot that presents us with opportunities for Upland Sandpipers, Eastern Bluebirds, Chestnut-sided Warblers and perhaps even Golden-winged Warblers.
Highlights of this exciting photo adventure may include:
- Capturing full frame images of singing songbirds such as:
- Scarlet Tanagers
- Indigo Buntings
- Up to 15 species of Warblers!
